Recap: Imperial Tigers vs. Vincent Memorial Scots

The Vincent Memorial Scots typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Imperial Tigers proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 60-52 victory over the Scots. The victory was all the more spectacular given Imperial's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 825th, while Vincent Memorial is ranked 409th).

David Scariano continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marc Vitela, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Imperial has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-14 record this season. As for Vincent Memorial, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Imperial will take on Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Imperial likes a good challenge. As for Vincent Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against Palo Verde Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palo Verde Valley and Vincent Memorial are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
