Softball Recap: Blue Island Eisenhower Takes a Loss

Blue Island Eisenhower extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 7-10 in the process. They came up short against the Reavis Rams, falling 17-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Tuesday.

Blue Island Eisenhower saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lana Krapf, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Reavis, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games.

On Reavis' side, Jessica Robitz was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Robitz has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 games.

In other batting news, Sienna Aragones was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Kenzie Welsh was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Blue Island Eisenhower didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-6 defeat against Tinley Park on the 24th. As for Reavis, they have also already played their next matchup, a 14-2 victory against Bremen on the 24th.
