Softball Recap: Ausable Valley Beats Northern Adirondack for Their Third Straight Victory

AuSable Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Northern Adirondack Bobcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-2 back in April.

Ava Doyle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit.

At the plate, AuSable Valley let Raven Sessoms and Cassidy Richards run wild. Sessoms got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and five RBI, while Richards got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. With that strong performance, Sessoms is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Lula Pfendler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs.

AuSable Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in three consecutive games.

AuSable Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Northern Adirondack, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.
