Basketball Recap: Wakefield Takes a Loss

Wakefield lost against Hurley back in February of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wakefield Cardinals fell 67-56 to the Hurley Northstars. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 522nd in Michigan, while the Northstars are ranked 210th in Wisconsin).

Wakefield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Hurley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Wakefield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chassell at 6:30 p.m. on February 20th. As for Hurley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-41 defeat against Mellen on the 7th.
