Softball Game Preview: Mary Star of the Sea Stars vs. Serra Cavaliers

The Mary Star of the Sea Stars will head out on the road to challenge the Serra Cavaliers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mary Star of the Sea has now lost eight straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 12.

Mary Star of the Sea came up short against St. Monica on Tuesday, falling 18-10.

Larrin Burruss made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024. Amaree Arellano was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Serra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 33-4 to Ramona Convent.

Serra's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mary Star of the Sea, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-3.
