Basketball Recap: Fort Bend Willowridge Takes a Loss

Fort Bend Willowridge lost against Stafford back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Fort Bend Willowridge Eagles took a blow against the Stafford Spartans, falling 79-37. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1111th, while the Spartans are ranked 109th).

Defeat or not, Fort Bend Willowridge got some senior leadership from Ernest Hampton and Dylan Thompson. Hampton posted ten points and five rebounds, while Thompson earned 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals. That's the most boards Thompson has posted since back in December of 2024. Davo Prateor Holmes also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Fort Bend Willowridge and nudges their season record down to 6-19. As for Stafford, the win keeps them at an undefeated 32-0.

Fort Bend Willowridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 97-39 victory against Harmony School of Innovation Sugar Land on the 11th. As for Stafford, they have also already played their next contest, an 87-43 win against Royal on the 11th.
