Basketball Game Preview: Salinas Cowboys vs. Monterey Dores

The Salinas Cowboys will square off against the Monterey Dores at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Salinas has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight defeats, while Monterey will come in with five straight victories.

Last Tuesday, Salinas didn't have quite enough to beat Everett Alvarez and fell 60-57.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Monterey ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against Pacific Grove by a score of 73-64. The score was all tied up 28-28 at the break, but the Dores were the better team in the second half.

Monterey pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.1 points per game. As for Salinas, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
