Evergreen Valley waltzed into their match on Wednesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came out on top against the Mt. Pleasant Cardinals by a score of 57-49. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 64-46 back in January.

Mt. Pleasant lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Derrick Norfleet, who posted 20 points. Jordon Flagg was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Evergreen Valley pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Mt. Pleasant, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evergreen Valley will head out to challenge Gilroy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mt. Pleasant, they are taking a road trip to square off against Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
