Basketball Recap: White Mountain Comes Up Short

White Mountain lost against Shishmaref back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The White Mountain Wolves took an 81-64 bruising from the Shishmaref Northern Lights. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, White Mountain still got an impressive performance from Kaden Adams, who posted 30 points. The game was Adams' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keanan Barr, who had 16 points.

Shishmaref got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ivan Davis-Nayokpuk out in front who put up 18 points. Another player making a difference was Elijah Barr, who scored 17 points.

White Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Shishmaref, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

White Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 69-65 loss against Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial on the 31st. Shishmaref has also already played their next contest, a 77-59 defeat against Shaktoolik on the 31st.
