Baseball Game Preview: Triton Hawks vs. Southern Alamance Patriots

The Triton Hawks will head out to square off against the Southern Alamance Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Triton 4.1, Southern Alamance 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Triton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They skirted past C.B. Aycock 4-3. Four seems to be a good number for the Hawks as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Triton's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brady Wilson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double. Another was Alan Hinson, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Triton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as C.B. Aycock struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, Southern Alamance's hitters rose to the challenge against a Patriots pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.83 runs allowed on Friday. Southern Alamance came out on top against West Carteret by a score of 10-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Southern Alamance.

Triton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Southern Alamance, their win bumped their record up to 18-6-1.
