Baseball Recap: Peninsula Takes a Loss

Peninsula was the 9-1 winner over Lawndale when they last played one another back in April of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Peninsula fell 6-1 to Lawndale on Thursday.

Peninsula got a good showing from TL Mills, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Mills also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Peninsula is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Peninsula saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Son, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Cooper Light also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Peninsula has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. Lawndale's record is now 10-4.

Coming up, Peninsula will take on Mira Costa at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Mira Costa will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Peninsula surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lawndale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Centennial at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
