Baseball Game Preview: Boling Bulldogs vs. Hempstead Bobcats

For the second straight game, Boling will face off against Hempstead. The Bulldogs will welcome the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Boling not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 21st. They put the hurt on Hempstead with a sharp 9-1 win.

Jerrick Garcia made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Those 16 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Boling: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parks Macek, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Trak Jimenez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Boling kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Hempstead is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15. As for Boling, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.
