Preview: Greenway Demons vs. Verrado Vipers
The Greenway Demons will head out on the road to face off against the Verrado Vipers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Greenway is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Wednesday, Greenway came up short against American Leadership Academy and fell 50-40. While losing is never fun, Greenway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while American Leadership Academy is ranked 102nd).
Meanwhile, Verrado's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Williams Field, falling 72-13. Verrado has not had much luck with Williams Field recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Greenway's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Verrado, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Greenway couldn't quite finish off Verrado in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 and fell 47-44. Thankfully for Greenway, Lowegyn Hearn (who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
