Washington Township is 7-1 against DeMotte Christian since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Washington Township couldn't beat Hebron on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Senators came up short against the Hawks, falling 14-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Senators in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for DeMotte Christian, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Heritage Christian on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Cheznie Kooy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 11 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Eva Orsburn, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lili Peterson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

DeMotte Christian's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2. As for Washington Township, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
