Softball Recap: Houston Christian Extends Winning Streak to Six

Houston Christian waltzed into their game on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Springdale Bulldogs a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Mustangs have won 11 matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Millie Metz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Metz was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on MC Been, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Yazmine Johnson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Houston Christian's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Springdale, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Coming up, Houston Christian will be taking part in a tournament against Rogers Heritage at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Springdale, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Northside at 5:00 p.m.
