Basketball Recap: Mesa Grande Academy Has No Trouble Against Bethel Christian

Mesa Grande Academy was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Bethel Christian on Monday. Everything went the Mesa Grande Academy Cardinals' way against the Bethel Christian Kings as the Mesa Grande Academy Cardinals made off with a 64-44 win. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 71-62 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Bethel Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Alakai Farley dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Farley's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Joseph Kyababchian was another key player, going 6 of 15 en route to 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Mesa Grande Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Bethel Christian, they moved to 13-7 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Mesa Grande Academy will square off against Loma Linda Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bethel Christian has already played their next match (against The Grove School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
