Volleyball Recap: Mayfield's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mayfield can bid farewell to their three-match losing streak thanks to their match on Saturday. They came out on top against the Beaumont School Blue Streaks by a score of 2-0. The Wildcats were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Blue Streaks, so the Wildcats were just returning the favor.

While Mayfield won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-18.

Mayfield had a senior duo take command as SKYLER KEPTNER had five digs and two aces and LUCIA Parrotta had ten assists and five digs. KEPTNER is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Giuliana DeNigris also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Despite the loss, Beaumont School saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Theresa Angert had nine digs.

Mayfield's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Beaumont School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Mayfield has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Villa Angela-St. Joseph on the 4th. Beaumont School has also already played their next match (against Twinsburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
