Odem (Texas) jumped out to an early lead against Bishop (Texas) and never looked back on the way to a 40-6 victory on Saturday.
The Owls put up seven points in the opening frame. Odem scored on a touchdown run by
Aaron Naranjo.
After taking the lead on a Naranjo touchdown run in the first quarter, OHS led 27-0 at the half.
The Owls expanded their lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. Odem's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown catch by
Ryland Hoelscher.
Jake Ray played well for OHS in the victory. He threw one touchdown and ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 19 touchdowns on the season.
The Badgers' lone touchdown came on a 57-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Coming into the game the Owls had allowed 21.8 points per game this year.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 42-22 win for Odem.
Bishop (3-6) will play a 2A-1 Region IV District 16 game against Santa Rosa next week. The Warriors will bring a record of 1-7 into the meeting.
