Basketball Recap: Ellis Falls Despite Big Games from Jocelyn Eck and Isabella Eck

Ellis was the 56-35 winner over Dighton when they last played one another back in December of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Ellis Railroaders took a 47-33 bruising from the Dighton Hornets on Tuesday.

Isabella Eck and Jocelyn Eck certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Isabella posted 18 points and seven boards, while Jocelyn earned five points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Jocelyn a new career-high in points.

Ellis' defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Dighton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ellis will head out to challenge Phillipsburg on Tuesday. As for Dighton, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will face off against Quinter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
