Baseball Game Preview: Eupora Eagles vs. Philadelphia Tornadoes

The Eupora Eagles will head out to take on the Philadelphia Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Eupora's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matches.

Eupora lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Nettleton, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's game. The Eagles blew past the Tigers 10-4 on Saturday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Eupora saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Stroup, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another was Jacob Crimm, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia hadn't done well against Union recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Tornadoes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Yellowjackets. The game was the first time the Tornadoes have beaten the Yellowjackets on their field since February 25, 2023.

Eupora's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Philadelphia, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Everything went Eupora's way against Philadelphia in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Eupora made off with a 14-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
