Softball Recap: Steeleville Wins Going Away Against Dupo

Steeleville's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Dupo Tigers as they made off with a 9-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Corinne Mueller was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Zoey Wolf was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Shaylee Ayers, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Steeleville's record now sits at 2-6. As for Dupo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Dupo will host Gillespie at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Steeleville will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' matchup: after the Tigers faces off against the Miners, they'll take on Steeleville again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
