Football Recap: Greeley Central Drops Highest Score of Season Against Northridge + How To Watch

Greeley Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 24-20 heartbreaker at the hands of the Northridge Grizzlies. On the bright side, the 20- point performance marked the Wildcats' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Although Greeley Central took the loss, they still got scores from Gabe Galindo, Kevin Tanabanu, and Damian Proano.

Even if they lost, Greeley Central's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department, Dennis Waters was the leader with two.

Yael Padilla had an outrageously good game for Northridge as he rushed for 89 yards and two TDs, and also picked up 30 receiving yards. That's the most rushing yards Padilla has posted since back in September of 2024.

Greeley Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Northridge, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Greeley Central and Northridge could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Wildcats will face off against Mead at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (172 vs. 35). Meanwhile, Northridge (ranked 118th) will meet Windsor (ranked 27th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
