Softball Recap: Steele Canyon Takes a Loss

Steele Canyon fell victim to Granite Hills and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Belle Will spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Steele Canyon's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-10-1. As for Granite Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-11-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Steele Canyon will square off against rival El Capitan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Granite Hills is set to challenge their familiar foe West Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
