Softball Recap: Barbourville Takes a Loss

Barbourville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Pineville Mountain Lions, falling 12-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountain Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on Wednesday.

Barbourville's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Pineville, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Barbourville will face off against Lynn Camp at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.67 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Pineville, they will venture away from home to face off against Hazard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mountain Lions will need to watch out since the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
