Softball Recap: Trinity Catholic Takes a Loss

Trinity Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 9-5 to the East Lake Eagles.

Hailey Wilson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Rebecca LeFils was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Trinity Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for East Lake, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Trinity Catholic and East Lake should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Celtics (ranked 40th) will meet Keystone Heights (ranked 185th) at 6:00 p.m. on April 6. Meanwhile, East Lake will take on Clearwater at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (49 vs. 309).
