Flag Football Game Preview: Bartlett Golden Bears vs. Eagle River Wolves

The Bartlett Golden Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Eagle River Wolves at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Bartlett will be strutting in after a win while Eagle River will be coming in after a defeat.

Bartlett is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Chugiak, who was ranked 11th at the time (Bartlett was ranked tenth). The Golden Bears enjoyed a cozy 32-18 victory over the Mustangs on Monday. Considering the Golden Bears' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Eagle River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Lathrop.

The win made it two in a row for Bartlett and bumps their season record up to 7-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 24 points in those games. As for Eagle River, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Bartlett strolled past Eagle River in their previous matchup on September 4th by a score of 14-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
