Softball Recap: Hardee's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

It's playoff time, and Hardee had no trouble coming through when it counted. They won by a run and slipped past the DeSoto County Bulldogs 10-9. The win was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Lunna Guajardo, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Saydee Herrera was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Hardee hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

Hardee's victory bumped their record up to 6-16. As for DeSoto County, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7.

Coming up, Hardee will challenge Lemon Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Manta Rays have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. DeSoto County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
