Preview: Graham Local Falcons vs. Indian Lake Lakers
Graham Local has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Indian Lake Lakers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Graham Local focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Graham Local beat Northwestern 58-52.
Graham Local's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hailey Nash, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Nash is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bailey Britton, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Indian Lake ended up a good deal behind North Union on Saturday and lost 46-29. While losing is never fun, Indian Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 660th, while North Union is ranked 310th).
Graham Local's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Indian Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Graham Local came up short against Indian Lake in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, falling 50-37. Can Graham Local avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
