Basketball Game Preview: Nevada Union Miners vs. River Valley Falcons

The Nevada Union Miners will head out on the road to face off against the River Valley Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Nevada Union will be strutting in after a win while River Valley will be coming in after a loss.

Nevada Union will bounce into Friday's game after beating Yuba City, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Nevada Union managed a 62-58 victory over Yuba City on Wednesday. Given the Miners' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while the Honkers are ranked 787th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, River Valley was beaten by Placer 80-50 on Wednesday.

Nevada Union moved to 14-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Nevada Union didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against River Valley when the teams last played on January 7th, but they still walked away with a 57-52 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was River Valley's Jackson McPeak, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Nevada Union still be able to contain McPeak? There's only one way to find out.
