Basketball Game Preview: Redeemer Christian Lions vs. Saint Francis Catholic Wolves

The Redeemer Christian Lions and the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Redeemer Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They managed a 53-49 win over St. John Lutheran.

Meanwhile, Saint Francis Catholic came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Minutemen 64-22. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-3.

Redeemer Christian better keep an eye on William Collett. He was instrumental in Saint Francis Catholic's win, going 9 of 22 en route to 29 points and three steals. Brett Thomas was another key player, putting up five points along with seven boards and five assists.

Saint Francis Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Redeemer Christian's victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-15. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Redeemer Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Saint Francis Catholic in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 59-47. Will Redeemer Christian repeat their success, or does Saint Francis Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
