Basketball Game Preview: Hudson Explorers vs. Solon Comets

The Hudson Explorers will face off against the Solon Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Hudson took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Cuyahoga Falls with a sharp 70-46 win. The Explorers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Solon can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They snuck past Twinsburg with a 65-59 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Comets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Tigers are ranked 301st).

Hudson's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Solon, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Hudson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Solon in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 63-59 victory. Will the Explorers repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
