Volleyball Recap: Cheshire Rams vs. East Lyme Vikings
Cheshire suffered their biggest defeat since September 17th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the East Lyme Vikings. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2017.
While Cheshire was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-23, 25-14.
Maeve Zbikowski paced Cheshire's offense, picking up seven kills. Zbikowski got some help from Lauren Kilpatrick and her 16 assists. Marissa Mudry controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Cheshire has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for East Lyme, the win (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.
Cheshire wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Bristol Central on the 15th. East Lyme does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
