Softball Recap: Apple Valley Sets Scoring Season-High Against Burnsville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Apple Valley). They put the hurt on the Burnsville Blaze with a sharp 14-1 win on Tuesday. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 10-4 victory the Blaze walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Amelia Duran was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Duran was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Olivia Duran was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Larson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one stolen base.

Apple Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Apple Valley's record is now 4-11. As for Burnsville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Apple Valley will venture away from home to challenge Richfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Burnsville, they will host Shakopee at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
