Softball Recap: Canterbury Comes Up Short

Canterbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes, falling 12-2. The Crusaders were not able to make up for their loss to the Hurricanes from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Cali Baust made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Baust is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Canterbury's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Palm Harbor University, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canterbury will square off against Indian Rocks Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palm Harbor University, they will be playing at home against Osceola at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
