Basketball Game Preview: Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy vs. Young Women's Leadership

Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy hasn't had much luck against Young Women's Leadership recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy turned things around against Morris two weeks ago. They walked away with a 31-21 victory over the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Young Women's Leadership came tearing into last Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their match with ease, bagging a 63-19 win over the Bulldogs. Young Women's Leadership has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 28 points or more this season.

Young Women's Leadership pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5.

Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy took a serious blow against Young Women's Leadership when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 47-18. Can Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
