Basketball Recap: Boiling Springs Drops Season-High Score on Wade Hampton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boiling Springs). They blew past the Wade Hampton Generals 60-30 on Tuesday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-14.

Boiling Springs found their leader in sophomore Makenzie Kinard, who went 9 for 17 on her way to 22 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Kinard is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynn Tipton, who posted 11 points.

Boiling Springs was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Wade Hampton lost, don't look at Jamaria Anderson. Despite the final result, she had four points and three steals.

The win made it two in a row for Boiling Springs and bumps their season record up to 8-14. As for Wade Hampton, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boiling Springs will host Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62 points per game this season. Wade Hampton has already played their next match (against Eastside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
