Basketball Game Preview: Stanton Vikings vs. Shenandoah Mustangs

Stanton is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Shenandoah is on a seven-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Stanton Vikings will welcome the Shenandoah Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Stanton earned a 53-40 win over Bedford. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 268th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Shenandoah blew past Red Oak, posting a 56-19 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.
