Baseball Recap: King City Wins Going Away Against Marina

King City never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Marina Mariners as they made off with a 13-0 victory. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Mariners recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

JC Navarro was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because King City is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-9 otherwise. Navarro was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joey Pina, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Axel Chavez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

King City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in six consecutive games.

King City's record now sits at 3-10. As for Marina, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

King City will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mariners: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
