Baseball Recap: Curry Comes Up Short

Curry couldn't beat Berry on Friday even though they stacked eight runs on them in the fifth inning. The Yellowjackets took a 16-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Justice Price and Carson Dunagan did some serious damage despite the final result: Price got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Dunagan got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Maddox, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.

Curry's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Curry is taking a road trip to square off against Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Berry, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against South Lamar at 4:30 p.m.
