Softball Recap: Westside Triumphs

Westside hadn't done well against Hackett recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rebels came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 5-2. This was payback for the Rebels, who suffered a 16-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Torie Nobles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Mackenzie Cato was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three runs. That home run was her first of the season.

The victory got Westside back to even at 2-2. As for Hackett, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
