Basketball Recap: Lakeland Triumphs

Lakeland hadn't done well against Westview recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lakeland Lakers managed a 52-48 victory over the Westview Warriors. This was payback for the Lakers, who suffered a 74-61 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Levi Cook had a dynamite game for Lakeland, putting up 17 points and five boards. Keyan Arroyo was another key player, posting 11 points and five rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Lakeland and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Westview, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeland will venture away from home to take on Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakeland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season. As for Westview, they will head out to face off against Angola at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
