Softball Recap: Sanger Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Sanger came out on top against Bullard on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Apaches took their match against the Knights 7-4. For the Apaches, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Amber Estrada made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. Estrada was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Samantha Guerra was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Arianah Cardoso was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Sanger lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Sanger's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Bullard, with the defeat, they broke their 12-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-6.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Apaches 1.8, the Tigers 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
