Soccer Recap: Friday's Win Is Marshall's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Marshall won against Bravo last Thursday with three goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. The Marshall Barristers walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Franklin Panthers. Given the Barristers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Panthers are ranked 785th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marshall hit Franklin with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jesse Del Compare, Luis Gonzales, and Christopher Lara.

Marshall is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those seven games. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marshall will square off against Wilson at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Marshall's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Wilson has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Franklin, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Franklin take on the Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
