Basketball Recap: Cyprus Wins Going Away Against West Jordan

Cyprus hadn't done well against West Jordan recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cyprus Pirates enjoyed a cozy 75-60 victory over the West Jordan Jaguars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 68-62 on January 3rd.

It was another big night for Koli Fosita, who went 10 for 12 en route to 24 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Harkaran Makhar, who posted 13 points and five rebounds.

Cyprus has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for West Jordan, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cyprus will square off against Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Taylorsville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season. As for West Jordan, they will venture away from home to face off against Juan Diego Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Juan Diego Catholic has six straight wins, West Jordan has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
