Basketball Recap: West Stokes Comes Up Short

West Stokes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Airy Granite Bears. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Granite Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Leading Mount Airy to victory were Ethan Clabo and Zach Goins. Clabo dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds, while Goins went 6 of 14 on his way to 21 points.

West Stokes' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Mount Airy, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the West Stokes Wildcats take on the Morehead Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Morehead has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 212 points over their last three matches. As for Mount Airy, they will challenge South Stokes at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
