Recap: West-Oak Warriors vs. Walhalla Razorbacks
The West-Oak Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 13th straight loss. They took a 73-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Walhalla. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
West-Oak lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lucas Towe, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Kaliski, who almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, nine rebounds, and 11 assists.
Walhalla was led to victory by Jack Williams and Ander Hunnicutt. Williams went 6 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 5 assists, while Hunnicutt dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 13 rebounds, and ten assists. It was the first time this season that Hunnicutt posted eight or more assists. Witt Austin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
West-Oak has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 15 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. As for Walhalla, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West-Oak will take on Crescent at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West-Oak is on a five-game streak of home losses, Crescent a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Walhalla will take on Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Walhalla focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
