Volleyball Recap: Ursuline Academy Comes Up Short

Ursuline Academy lost against Incarnate Word Academy back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bears fell just short of the Red Knights by a score of 3-2. While the Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Red Knights 25-19 in the first set.

Ursuline Academy started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 17-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-12.

Incarnate Word Academy was led to victory by Reese Hopkins and Kendall Stroer. Hopkins had eight digs and two aces, while Stroer had 12 digs. That's the most aces Hopkins has posted over her last six matches. Hannah Reimer also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Ursuline Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season. As for Incarnate Word Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-11.

Ursuline Academy has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Notre Dame on the 8th. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Cor Jesu Academy on the 9th.
