Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Sumner

Sumner proved they can win big last Monday (they won by six) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Steinbrenner Warriors 6-5. Six seems to be a good number for the Stingrays as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Eric Farmer, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

The victory (which was Sumner's third in a row) raised their record to 11-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Steinbrenner, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.
