Football Recap: Novi Falls to Traverse City Central in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Novi unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 46-3 defeat at the hands of the Traverse City Central Trojans on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Isaac Turnwald had a dynamite game For Traverse City Central., rushing for 129 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries, while also throwing for 169 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes. Those three passing touchdowns gave Turnwald a new career-high. Trent Gle was another key player, gaining 89 total yards and two touchdowns.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Novi will venture away from home to take on Hartland at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. The matchup will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Traverse City Central, they are taking a road trip to square off against Western at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
