Football Recap: Novi Comes Up Short at Home Against Traverse City Central + How To Watch

Novi unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Traverse City Central Trojans and fell 46-3. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Isaac Turnwald had an outrageously good game for Traverse City Central as he rushed for 129 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 169 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes. Those three passing touchdowns gave Turnwald a new career-high. Trent Gle was Turnwald's top target, picking up 52 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 37 yards and one TD.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Novi will take on Hartland at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. The matchup will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Traverse City Central, they will face off against Western at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
